All Of Us Home (USA, 27 min)
Directed by Julia Lull
“All of Us Home,” a short documentary about the problem of homelessness in Philadelphia, focuses on the Student Run Emergency Housing Unit of Philadelphia (SREHUP). Created with the help of Villanova faculty member Stephanie Sena, the shelter is entirely student-run. The shelter is unique because it only caters to its residents during the winter months and it holds thirty men, all of whom are experiencing homelessness for a variety of different reasons. The film captures the stories of four 2013 SREHUP residents: Jason Ford, Larry Wax, Frank “Franco” Charmichael, and Steve Johnson, and various Villanova students. The students who volunteer at the shelter play a vital role in these men’s lives by serving them nightly dinners and providing them with friendly conversation.
